Sea-kayaking around South Lofoten (North Norway)

Friday 29th August 2008: 5th day of the trip. Paddling in the fjords.

Campsite at Kjerkfjorden.

In the early morning it was raining in Kjerkfjorden. Later it became dry and sometimes the sun was shining on my tent but due to low clouds all the high steep mountains around me were not visible. I saw that at Reine (point 12), at the east coast, the weather was nice with totally blue sky.
Normally this 5th day was my last day and I should stop at Reine or paddle further and stop in A (point 1).
I phoned for the weatherforecast and heared that the weather for the next days should be very good. Yes , making new plans!! I knew exactly where to go the next 3 days. I have been on those places before. But camping on those places with nice weather should be really exciting.

Me, being happy after hearing the weatherforecast for the next days.

I broke my tent up (at point 9) packed everything in my sea-kayak and paddled towards Reine, to the sun. Before I visited the supermarked at Reine to buy some more food I paddled to the North and walked to mountaincol 11 (see map). Sadly I was surrounded by low clouds when I reach the col, but at Reine it was perfect weather.

Paddling under the high bridge at Reine (Point 12).

It was a little bit special to paddle to the supermarked, buying nice food for the next days, packed the new food in the sea-kayak and paddle further to Djupfjorden (point 13).
I camped close at this fjord and enjoyed a big campfire in the evening.
