During the last 26 years I have been out on many special trips in the mountains. Beside white water kayaking, rock and
ice climbing I have been build up a lot of experience with ski & walking trips in remote glaciated mountain area's.
I did many weeks of ski-touring in remote Canadian mountain area's, have done some remote glacier walking in New Zealand,
but most of all I did many Ski and Walking tours in Norway. I think I left many footprints and ski-tracks in every Norwegian
mountain area from the South to the far North. Before I started guiding active summer and winter vacations in Norway in
1990 for Fjell Tours, I have done some guiding in the European Alps for the Dutch Alpine Club.
Since 1990 until now I stay every year about six month in the Norwegian mountains. The last 3 years I have been very active
on Spitsbergen. Spitsbergen is for me one of the worlds best mountain area's.
There are many reasons not to go to Spitsbergen. But if you go, it is an awesome place!
Sofar all my trips on Spitsbergen has been successful. One of the key words for this success is: Patience!!
The weather is not always good, wait for the good weather and go for it!!
