Special Sea-Kayak Event in

I will carry over my sea-kayak over the glaciers and paddle upwards to Wijdefjorden in the North..
At the end of the summer, I will carry over my sea-kayak from the end of Isfjorden (Petunia-bukta) to Wijdefjorden.
See the light green line on the map below. The most of the walk with the kayak will go over the glacier. I hope to paddle up
Wijdefjorden to the north to the Midt glacier and then paddle Wijdefjorden back again on the other side. If the wind is to
strong I will make
day walkingtrips in the valleys and wait for the right weather to continue the sea-kayak trip.

This trip will keep me busy for some weeks. The views will be great. I saw in 2009 that the sunset and sunrise in
the end of August can be really special in this area. The main goal of this trip is to enjoy the view from the
small glaciers which are streaming down from the plateau glacier Asgard (east of Wijdefjorden), some of these
glaciers ends in the fjord. The highest point of the Asgard glacier is 1225 meter. At places were the small glaciers
ends in the fjord, you have a amazing look upwards to 1000 meters high glaciers while sitting in your sea-kayak.
I have never been here, but looking on the map the Midt glacier looks the most impressive one. This small glacier is
on both sides surrounded by 500 meters high steep rock walls for about 9km. The kayak view will be awesome at this place.
