Perriertoppen is the second highest mountain of Spitsbergen, only a few meters lower then Newtontoppen which is
the highest mountain of Spitsbergen. Periertoppen is situated in Atomfjella, this is the most Alpine mountainarea
of Spitsbergen. The view from Perriertoppen is awesome!
Depending on time and weatherconditions I hope to place a tent or build an igloo on Perriertoppen in winter- or summertime.
In 2008 I managed to sleep 3 nights on the top of Newtontoppen. For sure this will not take place here. Perriertoppen is
situated at a place which received bad weather or clouds much more easily then Newtontoppen.
I will be very happy if I managed to stay one night on Perriertoppen.
Perriertoppen is a much steeper mountain then Newtontoppen. Probabely I will build a fix rope before I climb the last
steep part to the top with a heavy backpack. For sure this rope will be very handy for the way down with a heavy backpack.
